Hi, this is Akie Noah Ohashi (he/him) I am from Japan. I moved to Chicago almost two years ago and I am currently, #UIC #undergraduate #student with physically and invisible disabilities. English is my second language, so I don’t have confident with, but I know what I am passionated: Disability Justice and social justice. I am majoring Disability and Human Development, which is the course that learn culture, humanity, art, and policy from the disability perspective. AND I LOVE IT! I am going to graduate at 2020 May (soon!) and hoping to keep continue my academic at graduate program.
I am working with CDI. I love to work as this #Student #org because not so many global perspective and global disability representation in the university. Yes, coming from different countries, cultures is difficult. Add to this, international students with disabilities, undocumented students with disabilities, first generation students with disabilities are struggling navigating the American University and American policy, system. Therefore, I am hoping that we could get connected and have fun, successful, and strong advocacy work with people with disabilities and people without disabilities!!
