CrowdV

CrowdV is a location aware, crowdsourced app built with Google Cloud Technologies to act as a conduit that efficiently connects volunteers to assist people with disabilities. It bridges a critical supply and demand gap between persons seeking assistance to manage their disabilities and those willing to voluntarily extend their help. In America, 13% of undergraduate students have disabilities and most of them struggle to receive adequate assistance for their academic and nonmedical needs due to structural, social, and cultural barriers. We believe the best way forward is to safely connect the dots between service providers and users. The mobile app is a great solution which allows users and volunteers to post and accept service opportunities. By using a free, easily accessible platform, volunteers can choose to help unpaid and receive official community service hours which promotes inclusion and reliance on a collective community as the agents for systemic change. This idea for the app is conceptualized and developed by Mizanur Rahman, the founder of CDI.

Through this app, we recruit volunteers, and provide them the necessary training to support disabled individuals based on their needs and accommodation requirements. Volunteers will receive Community Service Hours certificates after completion of a fixed number of service hours. To be a part of this initiative, please download the app and sign up from your phone.
